What is a CNAME Record?
A “CNAME” record maps a subdomain (www.example.com, something.example.com, …) to another DNS name. Note that a CNAME is NOT supported on the apex of the domain (example.com), ONLY subdomains. Please see ALIAS records for a similar feature for the apex of the domain.
